• 2.5 cups water
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon of butter (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Equipment:
1 medium saucepan

Directions:
1. Place water and rice into saucepan. Add butter to pot, and bring to a boil.
2. Cover and simmer for 35-40 minutes.
3. Uncover and let stand for 5 minutes then fluff with a fork.
4. Salt according to taste.
5. Serve.
