This was a quick dish we made after harvest. Strawberries are in season and the speckled trout lettuce has a slightly bitter finish that lends itself perfectly to the sweetness of strawberries. This salad was tossed with a simple vinaigrette of 1 part balsamic vinegar, 3 parts olive oil and the juice of half an orange. Fresh cracked black pepper makes a great finish.
