Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a direct relationship between farmers and consumers. People join up front by purchasing a share in the farm, and in return they get a weekly delivery of fresh, local, sustainably grown vegetables. Farmers and members share both the risks and rewards of farming.
We grow over 50 different varieties in a combination of vegetables, herbs and melons at the Bistro Farm. Our vegetables are grown for their flavor and nutritional value, picked at the peak of their season and delivered directly to our members. Weekly deliveries begin in the middle of June and run approximately 14 weeks ending the first or second week of October. The Bistro Farm delivers to the Twin Cities by serving three major Drop Sites.
The Bistro Farm CSA focuses on delivering a delicious, colorful and high quality box. Our share size is perfect for the foodie couple, small family, or for sharing with a friend. Each week during the 12-14 week growing season members can expect a full 1/2 bushel box full of a variety of seasonal vegetables, picked fresh and packed that day!
The Bistro Farm fills the drop sites with bushels of fresh cut salad mix and herbs available to members in a ‘free range’ system. Biodegradable plastic bags are provided for you to fill with your weekly supply of greens and herbs! Planning a party? Call us on the farm and well do our best to stack the baskets extra high. New recipes and newsletters are updated weekly check the site!
The main part of the share comes in a wax produce box. The boxes start a little lighter in the early part of the season and get heavier as the year goes on. Members can generally expect 8-10 pound boxes containing 6-8 varieties. Salad mix, spinach and herbs are delivered in baskets. Distribution is serve yourself. Most of the time there is plenty. Sometimes supplies are a little tight and quantities are limited. Our goal is to provide all you can eat every week depending on growing conditions. Drop Sites
